In the Becker Lab, we celebrate our differences, listen to one another, engage in honest and respectful discourse and work hard to create an environment where everyone feels welcome, safe, and respected. Excellence in our lab depends on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we are committed to doing our best science by building a community where many perspectives are represented, valued, and able to thrive.

A key part of our lab community is showing up for one another. In lab meetings, we begin with a round of joys and concerns, creating space to share what is going well and what feels hard right now. These small but meaningful check-ins remind us that we are people first and scientist second, and that our work is stronger when we care for one another.

In the Becker Lab, we see both our science and our operations as works in progress and are committed to learning from experience at every step. Even as an established lab, we expect to revise, adapt, and improve through experimentation, reflection, and candid feedback.

Thank you for visiting our site and taking the time to learn about the Becker Lab. We invite you to keep exploring to get to know who we are, what we study, and how we work together as an undergraduate research community.
